want to show today photos of my first commissioned doll. This is Maria2-porcelain ball-jointed doll. I gave her blue glass eyes of superior quality, hand-crafted in Germany.
It was a very valuable experience for me to work on a doll in certain time frames and under obligations. It was not always easy and smooth.. considering the unpredictable character of such a material as porcelain. But in the end, I think, she turned out a beauty 🙂 Love her Love her!!
The girl is already in her new home in Germany. I hope she will bring lots of joy to her very nice owner 🙂
My beloved porcelain ball jointed doll LISA is on Ebay tonight!
The auction will last for 5 days and end on Saturday 2.07.16.
And here is the Ebay link:
I hope my girl will soon find a new loving home 🙂 She is very beautiful and I love her sooo much!
More photos of Lisa can be found on my Flickr account.
Any questions? You are welcomed anytime!
Have a nice week 🙂
So, around 1,5 month ago I decided to take part in a competition organized by a German doll magazine ‘Puppen und Spielzeug’ (‘Dolls and Toys’) during the coming SpringDollFestival in Münster. The competition theme was Flower Power. So, I came up with the idea of a rock made like a cage and covered in flowers.
That’s how I was making THAT cage.. Learning to solder the copper wires on the go😂
And ta-taaa! The result:
And this is my Flower Power Girl 😊❤️
More photos will be posted later ☺️
Here some photos of working on a doll Lisa. She is very special to me 🙂 why? On this I’ll post another time☺️
With Lisa I learned how to make a fishtail braid 😉
Making many many flowers from pure silk with special tools
These little shoes I made using an idea from Horatio Yuxin Han, project Unfold 😊
And here she is… my new porcelain ball-jointed doll Lisa, mold Maria.
Wanted to say, that I improved the hands for my dolls! I am really really happy about it, because I was not AT ALL happy about the first variant.
Hope you like them 🙂
And if you noticed, there five of them.. Broke the finger of the sixth, when I was polishing it after the high fire and it slipped out of my tired hands 😂 Dollmaking teaches you a LOOOOT OF PATIENCE😉
Here is the new doll waiting for the new hands ..
And this is a not so pretty process of making gips forms of new hands 😝
See this pencil line? It means I made the first half of the form wrong 😣 .. For the third time..
Keep working and don’t give up!
I was not posting for a long time again 😦 Have to do something about it.. So many things happened to me in these months, so much to tell and sooo little time with all the work I’ve been through.
Soon I will post about two exhibitions and competitions I took part with my dolls. It was great! So, stay tuned 😉 I will try not to be out for weeks again:)
But first, I would like to share some work in progress photos. As I’ve mentioned already, these almost two months I was working on two dolls.
I was really happy how the faces turned out 🙂
I think I am getting better and better at it 😉
Today is the International Women’s Day! As I come from Russia, it is a Big Day for all Russian girls, women, mamas and grandmothers 🙂 All boys, men, boyfriends, husbands and grandfathers are trying especially hard on that day to please us 🙂
It is kind of celebrating the women, but also the spring, the end of winter and awaiting of all nice things the warm weather brings us.
Today, the nature met me with this picture:
BUT… after couple of hours the nature remembered obviously that it IS actually a spring day and brought us this…!
So, I wish everybody a happy spring day and lots of happy moments on this day for us – GIRLS of all ages!
Meanwhile, I’ll go back to work on my happy moment of the day-China painting of my two new dolls 🙂
Finally after many weeks of almost non-stopping winter illnesses, that my son kept bringing from the nursery, I’ve started working on new dolls!
This is a porcelain pouring stage:
After few days of conditioning the porcelain slip, pouring it into gips forms, being frustrated because of the pouring lines on the fresh doll parts, waiting 8 hours for the gips forms to be dry again, and pouring again.. , and carefully getting those parts out of the forms, and cutting the holes for the later stringing of the doll, and constantly washing the pouring jugs and stirring sticks and trying to keep the chaos in our kitchen in some borders…for approximately a week…I finely got about enough parts for (hopefully) three dolls!
Oh, and my back… Well, I am really sorry! I promise to buy you a voucher for a massage… 😉
After couple of days of drying the castings, I soft-fired them and proceeded to the wet cleaning stage.
The stage will last for some time.. 😉 But, I hope to update the information soon 🙂
In the meantime – back to the greenware cleaning!
I’ve decided to put on ebay tonight one of my last Monster High Repaints, made by me before my long time-out from ReeshDollDesign almost two years ago.
It is repaint of MH Operetta. I like her very much. I think the doll has a character.
I hope to make many new repaints of dolls soon. I missed it in my life somehow..
For the time being.. here is the link to the ebay for Operetta:
I am happy to present my second porcelain ball-jointed doll – Red Riding Hood.
I am very happy with how she came out. She is my second doll of five with glass eyes edition.
I had an idea to make a Red Riding Hood Doll about a week before Halloween. I had an image in my head of her, standing in the forest not far from our haus and my little son should have worn a wolf mask, sitting next to the doll on the photo. It was a vision and a plan, BUT…too little time to accomplish. The mask was made at first, then it came to the clothes for the doll – and it took a waaaay too long to finish it. Soo.. many weeks after Halloween, actually after New Year Party of 2016, I AM happy to present my version of Red Riding Hood to you. 🙂
And here are some photos in the woods..
I hope you like her.
The doll is on the ebay:
Thank you 🙂
