Project “Flower Power”

So, around 1,5 month ago I decided to take part in a competition organized by a German doll magazine ‘Puppen und Spielzeug’ (‘Dolls and Toys’) during the coming SpringDollFestival in Münster. The competition theme was Flower Power. So, I came up with the idea of a rock made like a cage and covered in flowers.

That’s how I was making THAT cage.. Learning to solder the copper wires on the go😂

And ta-taaa! The result:

And this is my Flower Power Girl 😊❤️

More photos will be posted later ☺️

Work on new doll Lisa

Here some photos of working on a doll Lisa. She is very special to me 🙂 why? On this I’ll post another time☺️

With Lisa I learned how to make a fishtail braid 😉

Making many many flowers from pure silk with special tools

These little shoes I made using an idea from Horatio Yuxin Han, project Unfold 😊

And here she is… my new porcelain ball-jointed doll Lisa, mold Maria.

So many things happened…

Hi everyone!

I was not posting for a long time again 😦 Have to do something about it.. So many things happened to me in these months, so much to tell and sooo little time with all the work I’ve been through.

Soon I will post about two exhibitions and competitions I took part with my dolls. It was great! So, stay tuned 😉 I will try not to be out for weeks again:)

But first, I would like to share some work in progress photos. As I’ve mentioned already, these almost two months I was working on two dolls.

I was really happy how the faces turned out 🙂

I think I am getting better and better at it 😉

Happy 8.March Day!

Today is the International Women’s Day! As I come from Russia, it is a Big Day for all Russian girls, women, mamas and grandmothers 🙂 All boys, men, boyfriends, husbands and grandfathers are trying especially hard on that day to please us 🙂

It is kind of celebrating the women, but also the spring, the end of winter and awaiting of all nice things the warm weather brings us.

Today, the nature met me with this picture:

BUT… after couple of hours the nature remembered obviously that it IS actually a spring day and brought us this…!

So, I wish everybody a happy spring day and lots of happy moments on this day for us – GIRLS of all ages!

Meanwhile, I’ll go back to work on my happy moment of the day-China painting of my two new dolls 🙂

Working on new porcelain dolls

Hello!

Finally after many weeks of almost non-stopping winter illnesses, that my son kept bringing from the nursery, I’ve started working on new dolls!

This is a porcelain pouring stage:

After few days of conditioning the porcelain slip, pouring it into gips forms, being frustrated because of the pouring lines on the fresh doll parts, waiting 8 hours for the gips forms to be dry again, and pouring again.. , and carefully getting those parts out of the forms, and cutting the holes for the later stringing of the doll, and constantly washing the pouring jugs and stirring sticks and trying to keep the chaos in our kitchen in some borders…for approximately a week…I finely got about enough parts for (hopefully) three dolls!

Oh, and my back… Well, I am really sorry! I promise to buy you a voucher for a massage… 😉

After couple of days of drying the castings, I soft-fired them and proceeded to the wet cleaning stage.

The stage will last for some time.. 😉 But, I hope to update the information soon 🙂

In the meantime – back to the greenware cleaning!
